Atty. Alberto Muyot is known for his child protection advocacy. This led him to a stint at the United Nations Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) where he managed the Legal Protection and the Comprehensive System of Justice for Children Project.Actively involved in upholding the rights of all children, he was among those who lobbied to the Philippine congress for the passage of Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006.He graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines College of Law and was a DeWitt Fellow when he took his Master of Laws at the University of Michigan.Atty. Muyot was a professional lecturer at the UP College of Law, Angeles University Foundation School of Law, FEU-DLSU Law (JD) - MBA Program, Lyceum of the Philippine College of Law and Miriam College Graduate School. Among the courses he taught were Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Torts and Damages and Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.He served as Director of the Institute of Human Rights at the UP Law Center, and consultant to the government peace panel during the talks witha the CPP-NPA-NDF in 1994-1996.He practiced law in both private and public capacity.
